Bike region Saalbach

Austria’s largest cycling region links the vast mountain bike area of Saalbach Hinterglemm with the Epic Bike Park Leogang and the newly constructed Bike Area Streuböden in Fieberbrunn in 2021. The result: an incomparable variety of trails with more than 80 kilometres of trails suitable for every skill level and a unique network of mountain bike routes stretching across two of Austria’s federal states.

From beginner to pro

Work your way up! Entering a new sport can be daunting, but Saalbach Hinterglemm Leogang Fieber-brunn makes it as easy as possible with dedicated practice and beginner areas in all three towns. The Learn to Ride Park at the foot of the Kohlmaisbahn in Saalbach, for example, offers four “Mini Lines”, a magic carpet and an uphill course specially designed to make it easy for beginners to practise their skills or get into the sport. Leogang, on the other hand, offers a 10,000 m² practice area called the Riders Playground. Easy beginner trails, a World Cup pump track and the GoPro Bagjump provide the ideal environment to hone your skills. Finally, the three easy lines of the Easy Park Obingleitn in Fieberbrunn offer an easy trail to get into a de flow thanks to their numerous berms, easy North Shore elements and rockgardens.

Once the basics are in place, progression is made easy thanks to numerous beginner-friendly trails with plenty of playful elements that even more advanced riders will enjoy.

Step by step, mountain bikers will find it easy to work their way to more and more advanced trails, until they eventually reach the Downhill World Championship track, “Speedster”, or the rugged and technical X-line. However, anyone considering these “pro” trails should really make sure they are comfortable riding all the other trails, lines and features in the region before riding these pro trails.
