Freiburg im Breisgau

This city is located in Germany’s Black Forest. A region familiar to many, but from the car. We ourselves have been driving past this city for years at a cruising speed of a good 130 kilometres per hour. After all, it’s right on Highway 5 that takes you to Basel. Not that we want to be in Basel no this is the route to Switzerland Verbier 🙂 Fun fact; on the 5 (driving south) you look right out of the window at the Vosges and Left out of the window at the Black Forest.
Freiburg is about 5 to 6 hours’ drive from the Netherlands and it actually has a mountain of a whopping 1240 metres. Virtually in the city there are plenty of fall trails from laid-back blue trails to double diamond black.
