In this MTB oasis on the Spanish side of the Pyrenees lies a wealth of trails with fantastic flow over rounded rocks and perfectly shaped descents. The beautiful mountain range of Pallars is the setting for this MTB holiday that takes place in the warmth of the Spanish autumn sun. We will take you to 5 different areas located between 800 and 2000m. Our shuttle service connects all routes. Our hotel is located in the centre of Tremp, a cosy mountain village with many bars and restaurants.

This trip is also possible without accommodation: 745€ (for more information: info@trekandride.com)

PROGRAM

Day 1: Arrival in Tremp. Briefing and dinner at our hotel.

Day 2:  Tremp: the flowy trails of the reservoir

We start with a 100% flow trail through the Salars forest. We descend 6 km on a singletrail with no technical difficulties through a beautiful pine forest. By shuttle we climb to the start of the “Roques Peladas”, a 5 km singletrail that first goes up and down along a mountainside with beautiful views of the Pyrenees and the reservoir. The trail gradually gets steeper and descends through beautiful round rocks and fast turns back to the village. We shuttle back up to bike the other descents that start at the same point. And we do so until we can’t feel our arms anymore! Flow, flow and more flow!

Day 3: Tremp: the art of flying

We swap yesterday’s flow and rocks for the flow and bends of trails that are slightly lower and more “shaped”. These trails are not accessible by shuttle but that cannot spoil the fun. The descents are so much fun that we will bike some of them twice. And after a day of plenty of flying through bowl curves and lightning-fast flow, we have another surprise for the daredevils, the “dragon khan”. Not recommended for those afraid of heights but what a trail, what a thrill!

Day 4: Tremp: Reservoir 2.0

On the other side of the reservoir is a mountain where we ride brilliant trails over flat rocks, beautifully constructed turns and some more technical descents. We bike to the top where we combine a number of descents that are pure fun. “Cactus Arizona”, “Maf”, “Roc de Neret”, “Bartotrail”, “Scream” and “Slick Rock”…all trails you will want to bang out more than once. Orgasmic!!!

Day 5:  La Pobla the Segur: enduro-circuit

We shuttle to the village on the other side of the reservoir. Here is the enduro circuit of the annual enduro race and we will ride the best trails, surrounded by majestic mountains.  These are the most technical trails of the week: very nicely laid-out descents of 6 km in beautiful nature, rock passages, bowl turns, technical passages interspersed with lightning-fast singletrails. Life is beautiful!

Day 6:  The Serengeti of Tremp

We return to the zone of day 3 where we bike a whole host of other trails and repeat the best descents of day 3.

Day 7: The terrible moment of farewell has arrived; the end of a fantastic week. We will see each other on the next adventure!

EQUIPMENT

For this tour, we require you to wear a helmet, knee and elbow protection and a backpack for your food, drinks and spare parts/tools. If you do not want to wear a backpack, a protective vest is mandatory. On the more difficult trails, a full-face helmet is not a luxury.

The average temperature in this region ranges from 10-15 degrees in winter, to 20-25 degrees in spring and autumn. However, bear in mind that due to the altitude and proximity to the Pyrenees, temperatures and weather can change quickly. We go above 1200m and it can be quite chilly there. Make sure you wear warm, rainproof clothes!

What bike?

  • full suspension enduro- or allmountainbike with minimum travel of  120mm (we recommend 140mm)
  • tyres with solid sidewalls and firm studs
  • dropperpost

E-bike:

Want to come by e-bike? You can. Shuttle service will be used, but the occasional brisk pedalling will be required and then an e-bike can come in handy.

LEVEL

Difficulty: medium
Technique: this week is intended for mountain bikers of all levels, but with a minimum of enduro experience. We ride on flowy and fast trails, with some steep and technical sections.
Physique: we use the shuttle service as much as possible, but there is a bit of climbing involved. An e-bike is ideal for this trip, but with good fitness you will enjoy it more. Don’t forget that you also need your strength and fitness during the long descents.
